It's A New Year!
Dear Club President & Executive
Welcome to a fresh new year in Kin. Now is the time to be thinking about your goals for the year and discussing them at your 1st executive meeting. I’m hoping that membership will be one of the goals that will be discussed. If you have had a chance to check out the membership incentives for 2009/10 you will notice there is much to offer for individuals that bring in new members as well as incentives to the clubs. We are hoping these incentives will give that little extra push to bring out guests and potential new members.
When we welcome new members into Kin we benefit at the club, district and national levels. Giving the gift of Kin to family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, acquaintances or a new person to the community opens up wonderful new opportunities for them and your club.
It was very exciting to work with Governors Carolyn & James to come up with these incentives and we feel with your cooperation they can have a significant effect on our district 2 membership numbers.
I look forward to getting many club membership proposals (incentive #6) by FLC. I am also planning a membership & recruitment seminar for FLC to help give some ideas for members and clubs to get out there and earn the incentive. Please send me the name and contact for your membership director as soon as possible so that we can work together on the incentives for your club.
See you at FLC.

Moving Up the Ladder
Greetings Fellow Kin!
Happy New Year. I hope your holidays were safe and fun and I hope you are all ready to tackle the Second Half of the Kin year.
To start off we are moving up the ladder slowly and surely. For the second month in a row we have lead the Association in New Members sponsored. We had an increase of 10 over the month before. Welcome to our newest Kin and congratulations to the sponsoring members.
We now sit at 698 members as of December 31. I truely believe we can be in a positive situation by year end and gain the 59 members we need to be at the numbers we had last June. Ask everyone you know. Don't keep us a secret.
Also we are going to be holding the March Membership Madness Campaign again this year. This program runs from February 1 to April 30. The top recruiter in the District will receive a paid accomidation and registration to attend District Convention in Winnipeg. So if there is someone you have been wanting to ask and haven't now is the time to do it.
Fellow Kin lets make sure we have two years in a row in a positive growth.
Yours in Kin and Membership,
Gord Patterson, Membership Director

One Step, One Member at a Time
Well
it is that time of year. Gifts are being wrapped. Governor Rob is making perogies. Governor Barb is making and testing the Egg Nog. Families getting together.
This is the time of year that the giving side of humanity is truely shown. What better time than now to give that Gift of Kin.
Kin is the perfect gift. It keeps on giving. With Kin you get life long friends, travel oppertunities, and job oppertunities. (caution Kin side effects may include side splitting laughter, high milage on vehicles, and abundant stories.)
Fellow Kin this has been fun to write. Over the holidays remember what is important and make time for those you care about.
Have a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.
Yours in Kin and Membership,
Gord Patterson, Membership Director

I Got the Green Blues
Well it is official.
Hell froze over and the Riders won the Cup.
Now that is in the past and I'm looking to the future. We will win the Cup next year in Montreal.
Also I am going to honor the bet. I will be wearing a Riders Jersey to BOTH the District 2 and 3 Kinventions. So if you want to see history come on out and get the camera's going. (I feel like such a Dirty Dirty Boy!!!!!!)

Climbing the Mountain Again
Greetings Fellow Kin
Well the summer has been an interesting one to say the least.
In June we ended the year +33. We led the Association and had our best year in a very long time. Then we got into summer.
We are now down -80 from last June. We have a long ways to go but I have no doubt we will end in the black again this year and have a positive number. Please remember to ask everyone you know and offer them the gift of Kin.
Congratulations to the Dryden Kinsmen on winning the Summer Recruitment and Retention program this year. They kept all members and increased over the summer. We will be knocking $500 off their district dues as a result.
Keep in mind fellow Kin we are now going to run the Club Membership night between November 1 - January 31. Clubs who hold a membership night are to write both myself and Financial Director Jack Rhyner about what activity you held and your club can get $100.
Finally I want to thank everyone who helped last year in increasing membership. It was due to your efforts that I was able to receive the Douglas Anthony Outstanding Membership Director's award. It was and is an honor to be the Membership Director of the best District in the Association.
