Benefits of a Kin MembershipWhen you were a kid it was great to have a place to meet new friends and discover new horizons. It can be the same now. Join a Kinsmen, Kinette or Kin club and become part of a dynamic organization filled with people just like you.
Help your community. Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs are the country's largest all-Canadian service groups, made up of active community volunteers. Members work together to serve the community's greatest need by promoting service, fellowship, family values and national pride. They support Cystic Fibrosis research and fund local projects, like playgrounds and ice rinks, across the country. So, if you'd like to give something back to your community, the club is the perfect answer.
Develop personally. It`s very satisfying to be a member of the club. You`ll be proud of the work you do for others and pleased with the personal benefits that result. You may become a better leader, or more of a team player. You'll find yourself more relaxed in dealing with groups; your presentation skills will improve and you`ll become a better public speaker. Plus you'll have a chance to network with people from a wide variety of businesses.
Make life-long friendships. Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin club members come from all walks of life, so you'll enjoy being part of a youthful and spirited group. And like most members, you'll make lifetime friendships that extend far beyond the club itself. Have a whole lot of fun. Although Kinsmen dates back more than 80 years, there's nothing old-fashioned about the meetings. They`re lively, interesting and fun. Fundraising events get you into the community and they're always rewarding and entertaining.
So join a club today, and brighten the horizon - for yourself and your community.

MEETINGS: Kinsmen Clubs typically meet twice per month for general meetings; Kinette Clubs typically meet monthly. Most clubs recess during July and August. The club executive typically meets between regular meetings to prepare the program for general meetings, and to deal with the club's administrivia. Members are encouraged to attend an executive meeting at any time, as that is where much of the business is done and therefore the best place to understand how a club is run.
Conventions and ConferencesNATIONAL: Our National Convention is held in August in a different location (typically alternating between east, west and central) each year. Kin from across Canada attend. It is a great way to meet Kin from other provinces and it is a lot of fun. National Convention features celebrations of service, ratification of the National Board activities, approval of the financial statements and upcoming year's budget, consideration of resolutions, as well as election of the Kin National Vice President. National Convention 2008 will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta August 13 - 16, 2008.
DISTRICT: Each District holds an annual convention. District 2 House Rules require District Convention to be held between the weekend after May long weekend and June 15. Bids are conducted at District Convention to determine the host Club or Clubs for the following year's Convention. District 2 Convention 2008 is being hosted by the Winnipeg Kinsmen at Club Regent in Winnipeg, May 29 - 31, 2008. District business is conducted at this Convention, including consideration of resolutions, approval of the budget, and election of the District Vice Team.
ZONE: Each Zone conducts an annual meeting called a Spring Zone Conference to be held between March 1 and the 3rd weekend in April. In addition to discussion of Zone affairs, elections are held for Deputy Governor, the Zone representative on District Council. The various club Presidents give reports as to what and how their clubs are doing, public speaking and joking competitions take place and Zone Awards are given awarded.
FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: FLC is a personal development and fellowship weekend. It is held between Thanksgiving weekend and November 15.
